It was a joyous occasion for the students of Loyola School as they celebrated a belated Children’s Day with an array of fun-filled activities. The event offered a perfect opportunity to cherish the innocence of childhood and create memories to last a lifetime.

The Junior Section hosted a well-planned Children’s Day Mela under the guidance of Vice Principal  Vineeta F. Ekka. The day commenced with grandeur and excitement, as the school buzzed with energy and happiness. The mela was officially inaugurated by Fr. Rector K. M. Joseph and Fr. Principal Vinod Fernandes, following a prayer and blessings.

The Mela was thoughtfully organized into slots for smooth execution. Students from Nursery to Standard 2 began their day enjoying games and activities at the Mela. Meanwhile, students from Standards 3 to 5 watched the animated movie The Good Dinosaur at the school’s Fasy Auditorium before joining the Mela for further festivities.

Children relished a delectable spread of food featuring a variety of their favorite dishes. They enthusiastically participated in games and activities at various stalls, winning thrilling prizes. One of the highlights of the Mela was the song request corner, where students dedicated songs to their teachers and friends, dancing joyfully to lively music. The event concluded at 1 PM as students returned to their classrooms to be picked up by their parents, their faces beaming with happiness.

While the junior students reveled in the Mela, the middle school organized memorable picnics for students of Standards 6, 7, and 8 at nearby resorts—Wave International, Hill View, and Tenth Milestone, respectively. The picnics aimed to provide a break from the academic routine and foster camaraderie among students.

Excitement filled the air as students boarded buses in the morning. Upon reaching the resorts, they participated in engaging games and activities, danced to lively music, and enjoyed basking in the winter sun. The resorts also offered a variety of delicious snacks and meals, keeping the students energized and cheerful throughout the day. Teachers played an active role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the students, contributing to the day’s vibrant atmosphere.

Fr. Principal Vinod Fernandes reflected on the day’s success: “We could not have Children’s Day celebrations on 14th November due to the assembly elections. However, the children enjoyed an abundance of fun and excitement through the Mela and the picnic. Such activities provide students with a chance to relax, bond, and grow beyond the classroom environment. Events like these are integral to holistic education.”
