Co-ordination review meeting was held on Wednesday at West Central Railway Headquarters under the chairmanship of General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyaya.
Additional General Manager RS Saxena along with other Chief Departmental Heads of the Headquarters were present in this meeting. Apart from this, Divisional Railway Managers of all three divisions were also connected through video conferencing.
In this meeting, many important topics like station re-development, freight loading, rail help, punctuality and infrastructural work were discussed. Along with this, emphasis was laid on safety, ensuring availability of water at all stations and trains, quick resolution of other passenger complaints and safe operation of trains.
At the beginning of the meeting, General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay has directed to give first priority to safety during monsoon. She has instructed the concerned officials to maintain monitoring and coordination with the local officials to remain prepared during rain, storm or change in weather conditions. Along with this, she has also directed to review and inspect by the concerned section engineers in sensitive railway sections and ensure deployment of gatemen at all such places. Emphasis was laid on ensuring availability of water at all stations and all passing passenger trains, prompt resolution of other passenger complaints within the time limit.
Apart from this, necessary guidelines were given to expedite the ongoing station redevelopment work under Amrit Station Yojana and complete it within the time limit. During the meeting, the General Manager said that there is a need to lay special emphasis on rail help analysis under passenger facilities, and discussed measures to increase railway revenue by increasing freight loading. He talked about monitoring the punctuality of trains, and emphasizing on speed related works and safety of trains.The General Manager also reviewed the progress of infrastructure works.
He said that safety is paramount for Railways. While reviewing the progress of work and projects for increasing passenger facilities, he directed the concerned officials to expedite the work.Bandopadhyay directed the departmental heads and divisional railway managers to ensure the operation of trains on time by giving priority to safety and security and passenger facilities.
