Shah to kick off BJP’s Parivartan yatra from Bhognadih

Thursday, 19 September 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will flag off BJP’s Parivartan yatra from Bhognadih, the birthplace of the legendary brothers Sido and Kanu, who led the Santhal revolt in 1855, located in Santhal Pargana division on Friday. Shah will reach Bhognadih at 12 noon and after paying tributes to Santhal martyrs will also address a public rally. The party’s upcoming “Parivartan Yatra,” aimed at bringing change and addressing key issues in the state.

The yatra, which will begin on September 20 and will span all six organizational divisions of Jharkhand and cover a distance of 5,400 kilometers.

The yatra will run from September 20 to October 3, passing through over 200 blocks and covering all 81 assembly constituencies. There will be 80 welcome events and 65 public rallies, with more than 50 national and state-level leaders expected to participate.

The yatra will held in Palamu division’s from September 21 to 28, Hazaribagh division from September 21 to 28, South Chotanagpur division from September 23 to October 1, Santhal Pargana from September 20 to 30, Dhanbad from September 20 to 26 and Kolhan from September 23 to October 2.

The BJP has alleged the government of allowing illegal immigration from Bangladesh and protecting Rohingya infiltrators, which has led to demographic changes in Santhal Pargana.

BJP state president Babulal Marandi has alleged that change in demography in Santhal is causing a decline in the indigenous population and a rise in the Muslim population.

He highlighted that over 1,800 acres of land have been illegally acquired, with financial deals worth more than 3,000 crore rupees, in violation of the Chotanagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act.

Marandi claimed that Jharkhand’s youth and women are eager for change, and the Parivartan Yatra will give the people a platform to demand answers from the state government.

BJP hails one nation one election

BJP's state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo posted on social media platform X and said that One Nation One Election was also on the agenda of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Now the central government has approved its proposal. Pratul said that One Nation One Election will save time and resources on a large scale and development work will also be accelerated. The committee formed under the leadership of former President Ramnath Kovind had submitted its report of thousands of pages to the central government in March itself.

The committee had held extensive discussions with the concerned people across the country on this issue. Pratul said that it is true that elections are held in some state or some region in the country all the time. Development work remains hampered due to the imposition of Model Code of Conduct. One Nation One Election will solve this problem. Pratul said that One Nation One Election will prove to be a very important step in the election reform process. It is possible that the report of the Kovind Committee will be presented and discussed in the House in the coming session. He said that this is the Modi government. Whatever it says, it definitely does it.
