In a shocking incident, Ayodhya’s additional district magistrate (law and order) was found dead mysterious circumstances at his residence in the holy city on Thursday morning.
According to reports, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Surjit Singh was found dead at his residence in Sursari Colony of Ayodhya.
The police are trying to ascertain the exact cause of death, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh said, adding that a detailed probe has been initiated after the lodging of an FIR.
Sources said that blood was seen spread all over the floor of his room. The incident came to light around 9:30 am, after which senior officers, including the divisional commissioner and the district magistrate, visited the house.
According to information, the family of Surjit Singh lives in Kanpur and he had hired a maid to cook food. Like every day, on Thursday morning, when the maid reached the house to cook food, she saw the body of the additional district magistrate lying in the room and called the police. The local cops immediately reached the spot and informed senior officials about Singh’s death.
MP Avdhesh Prasad also reached Sursari Colony and enquired about the matter from the officials.
