Rotary Bokaro hosts vocational and club awards ceremony

On Saturday night, Rotary Club of Bokaro held its final event of the Rotary year 2023-24, the 'Vocational and Club Awards' ceremony, at the Paul Harris Auditorium. The event recognized outstanding contributions to the community. Doctors and paramedical staff from Muskaan Hospital, Chas, were honored for their exemplary service during the club-organized free medical camp. A total of 10 doctors and 29 paramedical staff were awarded mementos and certificates, and were declared 'Friends of Rotary'.

 

In addition, the club honored three other individuals for their outstanding service to society. Mohan Azad, who conducts drawing and painting classes in the adopted village of Ulgora, was recognized. Three homeopathic doctors, Dr. Paresh Chaudhary Mahto, who provides services at the club’s free homeopathy clinic every Sunday, and Dr. Nikhil Pathak and Dr. Poonam, who contribute to the free homeopathic clinic at the Gurdwara in Chas, were also honored.

 

The club recognized 14 members for their dedicated service in 2023-24. Eleven members were named 'Exemplary Rotarians', including Rtn. (Dr.) Professor Anil Trehan, Rtn. Anil Tripathi, Rtn. Ashok Jain, Rtn. Hardeep Singh, Rtn. Dr. John Liu, Rtn. PDG Mahesh Kejriwal, Rtn. Dr. Rajdeep, Rtn. Rani Agarwal, Rtn. Dr. R.N. Pradhan, Rtn. Sandhya Raj, and Rtn. Dr. S.C. Munshi. Additionally, Rtn. Ashok Taneja, Rtn. Chandrima Ray, and Rtn. Pradeep Narayan received the most coveted 'Rotarian of the Year' award amidst resounding applause. Outgoing President Rtn. Ghanshyam Das expressed heartfelt thanks to all members for their support and cooperation throughout the year.

 

The awards ceremony was successfully conducted by Rtn. Pradeep Narayan, whose unique style was highly appreciated. The event concluded with a musical Antakshari led by Rtn. Chandrima Ray, with participation from Rotary Bokaro Midtown couples and Rotary Chas members. The enthusiastic applause from the audience boosted the morale of the participants. With this event, the Rotary year 2023-24 came to an end worldwide. From July 1, Rtn. Mahesh Gupta, a prominent businessman, will take over as the President of Rotary Bokaro for the year 2024-25.
