Rath Yatra today: Proper security, facilities for devotees in place

Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha and Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi Chandan Sinha reviewed the preparations and security arrangements for the Jagannathpur Rath Yatra fair on Saturday. During this, Superintendent of Police (City) Rajkumar Mehta and officials of the temple committee were also present.

While reviewing the arrangements in the fair premises, the senior officials gave necessary instructions to the officials of the temple committee. While inspecting the Rath Yatra route from Jagannathpur temple to Mausi Bari, the DC directed to ensure the convenience of movement of devotees. SSP Chandan Sinha instructed the shopkeepers to set up their shops only till the designated place so that no devotee faces inconvenience during the Rath Yatra.

The DC said that the Rath Yatra will start with full rituals tomorrow at 03:30 pm, for which all the arrangements of law and order have been made. Keeping in mind that the devotees do not face any kind of problem, 24-hour electricity, mobile toilets, water, fire fighting and ambulance have been arranged.

The SSP informed that strong arrangements have been made for security, five watch towers and CCTVs have been installed in the fair premises. He informed that magistrates and police officers have been deputed at all important places,

Senior officers/ magistrates/ police officers have been deputed to maintain law and order and peace during the entire fair period. From the point of view of law and order, magistrates/ police officers have been deputed in the main temple premises and Mausi Bari temple, fair area, fair patrol, drop barrier gate in two shifts.

During the fair, sufficient number of doctors and their colleagues will be deputed at the fair site in two shifts. The Civil Surgeon Ranchi has been ordered to ensure the deputation of the medical team with necessary medicines. The fire officer has also been asked to ensure the availability of fire vehicles at the fair site till the end of the fair. The temple committee has been asked to organize the fair in such a way that the movement of ambulances, fire vehicles/law and order vehicles etc. can take place in all areas without any hindrance.

During the fair, the police will keep a close watch on anti-social elements/miscreants. The Parichari Pravar, Police Center, Ranchi has been ordered to depute policemen in plain clothes in the fair ground apart from the deputation site, so that the hooligans and anti-social elements can be monitored. Apart from this, orders have also been given to depute sufficient women police in women dominated areas.

An order has been issued for a complete ban on the sale of illegal liquor and hadiya in and around the fair premises till the end of the fair. The Assistant Excise Commissioner has been asked to ensure a complete ban on the sale of illegal liquor Hadiya in and around the fair premises.

Classes will remain closed in the schools falling in the fair area till 17.07.2024. The District Education Officer, District Education Superintendent have been ordered to ensure compensation classes in lieu of this.

The concerned officials have also been directed to coordinate and ensure arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water supply, mobile toilets, traffic system, watch tower and stage arrangements etc. in the Rath Yatra fair.

The fair will be organized between 06:00 am to 09:00 pm. Police station in-charge Dhurva / Jagarnathpur has been ordered to ensure that the operation of swings etc. is stopped after 09:00 pm. Sub-divisional Officer, Sadar, Ranchi and Superintendent of Police, Nagar will be in complete charge of law and order on the occasion of Rath Yatra Fair.
