A programme was held to commemorate 'Hindi Day' by the Tagore International Hindi Centre in the state capital on Saturday.
The event coincided with the start of Hindi fortnight.The program was designed and presented by the Overseas Indian Literature and Culture Research Centre, and the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal.
An 'International Symposium' on the topic 'Hindi in the World: The World of Hindi,' was held to mark the occasion.
On this occasion, the Tagore International Hindi Centre also presented the 'Hindi Acquisition Curriculum' designed for global Hindi education.
A book titled 'Vishwa mein Hindi: Hindi ka Vishwa' from the Overseas Literature Series published under the 'Vishwa Rang' theme was also launched.
The book, edited by Dr. Deepak Pandey and Dr. Nutan Pandey, focuses on 'The Literary Contributions of Dharmapal Mahendra Jain, a Canadian Writer.
The author, Jain, in his presidential address, noted the rapud strides made by Hindi on the global stage and elaborated on the programs divised for promotion of the language in Canada.
Speaking on the occasion, Aditi Chaturvedi Vats, Pro VC of the university said that the foundation of the ISECT group is Hindi.
She said that Hindi Fortnight has been inaugurated at all six universities of the ISECT University group.The fortnight will see many students present and participate in various programs and events designed for the promotion of Hindi.The Hindi fortnight concludes on September 30.
