As per the instructions of NALSA New Delhi and Jhalsa Ranchi, Principal District and Sessions Judge of Lohardaga district cum DALSA President Arvind Kumar Pandey inspected the Divisional Jail, Lohardaga on Thursday. CJM Krishnakant Mishra and Dalsa Secretary Rajesh Kumar were also present with him. PDJ interacted with the prisoners confined in Mandal Jail and listened to their problems. He also inspected many wards. Jailer Subodh Kumar said that till 30th May 2024, a total of 260 prisoners are lodged in Mandal Jail. In which there are 246 male prisoners and 14 female prisoners.
There are also 32 convicted prisoners, who are to be transferred to Hotwar jail after June 4. There are 228 undertrial prisoners in Mandal Jail. In view of the increasing heat, PDJ emphasized on proper arrangement of drinking water and fans. PDJ is also directed to ensure cleanliness and hygiene at places like toilets, bathrooms, dispensaries etc. Along with this, instructions were also given to repair the high mast light as soon as possible. Dalsa Secretary informed that the panel advocates of LADCS keep visiting Mandal Jail from time to time and talk to the prisoners and solve their problems.
