With the Lok Sabha elections fast approaching, preparations for the departure of polling parties have intensified in East Singhbhum district. Voting for the 09-Jamshedpur parliamentary seat is scheduled for May 25, 2024. The District Election Officer, Ananya Mittal, along with Deputy Development Commissioner, Manish Kumar, conducted a thorough inspection of the material warehouse and the district control room to ensure readiness.
Mittal and Kumar visited the material warehouse where preparations for dispatching the polling teams on May 24 are underway in full swing. They reviewed the packaging process for the materials that will be distributed to polling personnel. The inspection included checking the quality and completeness of the items in the packets. These items include:Instruction books for the presiding officer and electronic voting machine (EVM), Various forms and envelopes for statutory and non-statutory packets, Pens, pins, indelible ink, and metal seals and Different types of posters and other essential materials.
The officers also verified that the packets prepared for the Legislative Assembly were accurate and instructed the team to ensure all materials were ready within the stipulated time frame.
Recognizing the critical nature of the final 72 hours before voting, Mittal emphasized the importance of close monitoring and efficient coordination. He inspected the District Control Room to confirm the presence and readiness of personnel. He issued directives for the control room to supervise the work of the Flying Squad Teams (FST) and Static Surveillance Teams (SST).
Mittal stressed the importance of vehicle checks at permanent checkpoints, urging personnel to maintain vigilance and promptly share any significant information with the flying squad team. He outlined the control room's responsibilities on the day of voting, ensuring that all protocols are followed to facilitate a smooth and orderly election process.
Instructions regarding the departure of the polling parties were also discussed. The District Election Officer provided guidelines to ensure that the polling teams are dispatched efficiently and that the control room supports their activities throughout the voting day.
