Chhindwara police have arrested a miscreant who stole a four-wheeler by feeding the driver eayables laced with intoxicants. The police have also arrested two accused who bought stolen vehicles.

An Ertiga car bearing registration number MH40AR1675 worth about Rs 4 lakh, a grey coloured Dzire car bearing registration number MP18ZD1138 worth about Rs 6 lakh and a white coloured Dzire car bearing registration number MP04ED4523 worth about Rs 6.5 lakh have been seized from the accused.

Complainant Kanhaiya Nagle of Azad Ward, Multai complained that on September 10 at 9.30 am, car owner Sanjay Taywade called him and told him that he has to take a person to Chhindwara by car. I brought an unknown person to Chhindwara in an Ertiga car bearing registration number MH40AR1675. The unknown person left me in the car and went away telling him that he had some work and after 15-20 minutes he brought juice for and offered, after which I started feeling dizzy and fainted. When I regained consciousness at around 07 pm, the unknown person had gone somewhere with the car. When I could not find him after searching a lot, I called the owner and told him the whole incident. A crime was registered in the Kotwali police station.

During the investigation, the police team collected important evidence regarding the incident using all technical resources, in which CCTV footage of the suspects was collected and informers were activated.

On the night of September 22 information was that a person resembling the appearance of the person who stole the car was roaming near the bus stand Chhindwara. On the information, the police team immediately nabbed the person from the bus stand Chhindwara and brought him to the police station Kotwali, the accused told his name as Zulfiqar alias Zulfi Saifi resident of Jabalpur and admitted to stealing the applicant's car. Apart from this incident, the accused also admitted to committing 03 other incidents with his partner Siraj Ahmed.

He confessed that he booked a Bolero pickup vehicle from Chhindwara district and took it to Narsinghpur district. He fed sleeping pills to the driver of the pickup and stole the pickup vehicle from there, he sold this pickup vehicle to Lallu Gupta, a resident of Shahdol.
