Police have arrested a youth with illegal weapons. The arrested youth has been identified as Sohdan Minj, 23-year-old son of Sylvester Minj, resident of Tan village of Kudu police station area of Lohardaga district. A country-made pistol and a live cartridge have been recovered from accused Sohdan Minj. Police Captain Haris Bin Zaman presented the arrested accused before the press on Thursday. He said that he had received secret information that someone was roaming around with illegal weapons in village Tan under Kudu police station. On this information, a raid team was formed under the leadership of Police Sub Inspector cum Kudu police station in-charge Vishwajeet Kumar Singh. By the formed raiding team, a formal raid was conducted in village Tan under Kudu police station area.
During the raid, the accused started running away after seeing the police. He was chased away and caught by the raiding team and during the search of the body, a country-made pistol and a live cartridge were found in the waist of accused Sohdan Minj. In respect of which no valid documents were presented by the accused. Thereafter, the accused Sohdan Minj was duly arrested and brought to the police station along with the seized illegal country-made pistol and a live cartridge. A case has already been registered against the arrested accused under Lohardaga police station case number 15/2021, dated 14/01/2021, section 302/34 IPC and 27 Arms Act. Apart from Kadu police station in-charge, the raiding team included ASI Lavkush Singh, Suku Soren and police force personnel.
