Delhi Development Authority on Saturday carried out plantation drives in different parts of the national Capital under the directions of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena in a bid to make the city greener and maintain a sustainable habitat.
An official of the DDA stated, “During the financial year 2024-25, till now 50,000 trees and 5,50,000 shrubs have already been planted at various locations across the city. The Authority is also taking all possible steps to ensure that the saplings being planted are nurtured sufficiently, so as to achieve optimal survival.”
He added that on Saturday plantation was done at Dwarka in DDAs Sector 19B housing development. “Plantation drives in District Park and Lake, G17, PaschimVihar were also undertaken recently. It has also organised ‘EkPedMaaKeNaam’ campaign at District Park Vikaspuri as part of the plantation programme.
