Periodic overhauling work is done in the railway workshops located at Bhopal and Kota of West Central Railway. Under the continuous monitoring of General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay and the leadership of Chief Workshop Manager, the depot has achieved excellent performance by maintaining maximum number of coaches and wagons in the last financial year.
West Central Railway did periodic overhauling (outturn) of a total of 8181 coaches/wagons in the year 2023-24, whereas in the year 2022-23, periodic overhauling of a total of 7597 coaches/wagons was done, which is about 08 percent more.
In the year 2023-24, Coach Rebuilding Factory, Bhopal maintained 1420 coaches and Kota Workshop repaired 6761 wagons. Talking about March 2024 alone, a total of 668 coaches/wagons were periodically overhauled in both CRWS/Bhopal and WRS/Kota workshops, in which Carriage Rebuilding Workshop, Bhopal maintained 117 coaches and Kota Wagon Repair Workshop maintained 551 wagons. Did maintenance work.
It is noteworthy that POH of coaches is done in CRWS Bhopal and POH of wagons is done in WRS Kota. The following tasks are performed during Periodic OverHauling (POH).
Body and under gear of coaches and wagons are repaired to ensure safety in operation. All parts of trolleys and bogies under coaches and wagons are repaired, which is very important from a safety point of view.
