In a heartwarming gesture, the Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS Bhopal celebrated Diwali with children undergoing treatment for cancer. <
Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, lauded the initiative, saying, "Our team has always worked to make our young patients feel at home, especially during such challenging times. Aimed at bringing the festive spirit to children who often face long hospital stays, the event provided a sense of home and joy within the pediatric ward. The celebration saw the young patients, along with nursing staff and doctors, express their talents in singing and poetry, adding warmth and laughter to the atmosphere.
A delicious cake was enjoyed by all, and children received special gifts distributed by Cankids-Kidscan, a support organization dedicated to aiding young cancer patients. The pediatric ward was festively adorned with vibrant rangoli designs and diyas, a combined effort by parents and staff, creating a festive ambiance to uplift everyone's spirits.
Prof. (Dr.) Shikha Malik, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, extended heartfelt Diwali greetings to all the children and their families. She commended the efforts of Pediatric Oncology support staff members Ms. Kanchana Bharambe, Ms. Bharti, Priya, Mr. Prashant, and Ms. Savita for their hard work and dedication in organizing this memorable celebration.
