Orange-yellow alert issued in 31 districts of Madhya Pradesh

Heat waves, storms and rain are expected in the state as Meteorological Department has issued an orange-yellow alert for storm and rain in 31 districts including Bhopal and Indore.

For the last 3 days, there has been intense heat in the afternoon and storm and rain in the evening in many cities. There was drizzle in Bhopal on Wednesday. Due to this, the day's mercury dropped to 4.5 degrees. At the same time, the mercury in Prithvipur and Rewa of Niwari crossed 45 degrees.

Bhopal recorded day temperature at 40.8 degree celsius on Thursday providing relief from the scorching heat faced in the past few days.

IMD, Bhopal told that due to the western disturbance, cyclonic circulation and trough line passing, there is a phase of storm and rain in the state. At the same time, there is also the effect of heat in some districts.

Similar weather will remain in the coming days as well. On the other hand, the monsoon is continuously moving forward at its pace. In such a situation, there is a possibility of it reaching Madhya Pradesh on time.

The weather remained changed in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday as well. Due to this, the temperature dropped considerably in many cities. There was light drizzle in Bhopal during the day. Due to this, the temperature dropped by 4.5 degrees to 36.5 degrees. In Narmadapuram, the temperature dropped by 7.1 degrees to 31.9 degrees. Temperature has also dropped in other districts including Indore, Ujjain, Betul, Guna.

The effect of heat was also seen in some cities. In Prithvipur of Niwari, the temperature has been continuously above 45 degrees. On Wednesday, it was 45.7 degrees here. 45.6 degrees were recorded in Rewa. The temperature in Gwalior-Shivpuri was above 44 degrees. Mercury was also recorded above 43 degrees in Naugaon, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, Khajuraho, Singrauli and Bijawar.

Met has issued a warning of thunderstorms with gusty winds (50-60 km/hr) at some places in Datia, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Niwari districts while thunderstorm with gusty winds (40-50 km/hr) at some places in Sehore, Burhanpur, Dawas districts.
