Habibganj police arrested Mukesh Bhalerao, who sold a Bhopal woman in Rajasthan, from Rani Kamlapati Railway Station (RKMP). Mukesh, who had a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head and was in a bid to flee.
Police said many big links operating flesh traders are likely to be revealed from Mukesh. It is believed that he was in contact with a human trafficking gang. The accused's mobile has been given for investigation. The CDR of his number is being extracted.
The accused had sold a 26-year-old woman from Bhopal in Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The woman was sold for Rs 3 lakh. The woman who was sold on February 23 was recovered by the police from village Maulela in Rajsamand on September 23. Its mastermind Pooja, her friend Chhaya, Mukesh's wife Santosh Bhalerao, Himmatlal who arranged the marriage and Devi Lal who bought the woman and married her have already been arrested.
Police station in-charge Ajay Soni said that informers were deployed in and around the house of accused Mukesh to catch him. On the night of November 11, he was arrested from the railway station on the basis of pin-point information.
Mastermind Chhaya's daughter's in-laws are in Rajasthan. She visits there frequently. This is how Chhaya came in contact with Devi Lal of Rajsamand. Devi Lal talked about buying a girl for marriage and the deal was done for Rs 3 lakh. Puja brought her friend (victim) who worked with her to Chhaya's place. On the pretext of work in the wedding, Santosh and her husband Manoj took the victim to Rajsamand. Here Pandit Himmat Lal got her married to Devi Lal. The victim had told the police that she was kept tied in chains.
Accused Manoj had got a second Aadhar card made for the victim to change her identity. Apart from this, other documents were also made. Where these documents were made. This is being investigated. Police are also connecting the links of who else Mukesh was in contact with.
The minor who went missing 8 months ago has been recovered from Sehore by Katara Hills Police. The person who took her away has been arrested. Both were living as husband and wife. The accused was identified as Suraj Mehra.
Police station in-charge Brijendra Nigam said that sections will be increased after the victim's medical examination.
