A youth died after jeep overturned after it was hit by a speeding SUV at Airport Road; five others were injured, one of them is in critical condition.
The airbags of the XUV opened and the driver and another person in it survived. After the accident, the XUV driver left the vehicle on the spot. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
According to Kohefiza police, Ashfaq Mustafa (35) was a resident of Imami Gate. He was a contractor for light fitting. At 12:30 on Saturday night, he was having tea at Rangla Punjab Dhaba in Parwalia with his friends Zahoor, Anees, Majhar, Guddu and another.
On Airport Road, just in front of the road leading to Manuabhan Tekri, a speeding XUV car coming from behind hit his car. Due to this the jeep overturned, in the accident Ashfaq died after being crushed under the jeep. The matter is being investigated.
The elder brother of the deceased Akhlaq said that we were three brothers including Ashfaq. He was the second one and was not married yet. After working all day, he often used to go to the dhaba on the city limits with his friends at night.
He left for Rangla Punjab in a friend's jeep and on their way, an SUV hit from behind, due to which all the friends were injured after the jeep overturned. Ashfaq died in the accident.
Akhlaq said that Zahoor has suffered serious injuries in the accident. His skull bone has cracked, there are serious injuries in other parts of the body as well.
