NCC has contributed significantly to making India a powerful nation: Minister Singh

School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh has said that the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has made a significant contribution to making India a powerful nation. NCC organization is continuously working to make school students and youth disciplined and responsible citizens. NCC develops the values ??of national unity, integrity, communal harmony, social service, discipline, and patriotism in the minds of the students. Minister  Singh was addressing the 76th Foundation Day celebrations of NCC at Shaurya Smarak, Bhopal today.

School Education Minister Singh said that there are many personalities in high positions in the country, who are contributing to the building of the country. All were associated with NCC in their youth. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained associated with NCC during his school education. NCC events are playing an important role in strengthening the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. By connecting more and more youth with NCC, we can fulfill the Prime Minister’s dream of a developed India.

Additional Director General of NCC, Major General Vikrant M Dumane in his welcome address said that NCC was formed in India in 1948. NCC is that institution of our country, which is contributing a lot in giving a positive direction to society. NCC is also continuously working to develop leadership abilities and strengthen the spirit of social service among the students.

Presentations of cultural programmes

On the foundation day of NCC, cadets presented tribal folk dances of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh region. Students of Carmel Convent, Bhopal gave a melodious brass band performance in a disciplined manner. Along with this, the cadets also presented the NCC anthem and the national anthem. At the end of the progamme, Deputy Director General Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Brigadier Rajneesh Singh Gaur said that it is proposed to establish a Cadet Training Academy to provide training to the youth in the state for which land has also been allotted. The work of building construction will start soon. Along with this, the resreshment allowance and residential allowance of cadets participating in the camp have also been increased. He said that continuous efforts are being made to increase the number of NCC cadets in Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, NCC cadets donated blood in the camp.
