Singrauli district police of the state has nabbed murder accused, said ADG (Law and Order) Jaideep Prasad informed the Chitrangi police.
The police have arrested the accused Abhishek Pandey on the basis of CCTV footage and investigation.
He informed that other aspects of this murder case are also being investigated. The statement of the accused is also being confirmed by the police.
The Chitrangi police of Singrauli district received information on July 13 at 12.30 pm that the body of an unknown person was lying on the Tenduha Podi road and prima facie it appears that the death was due to a gunshot. On receiving the information, police station in-charge Sheshmani Patel along with the staff reached the spot and inspected it closely and immediately registered a case under section 194 of BNSS in Chitrangi police station.
On receiving information about the case, Superintendent of Police Nivedita Gupta formed three teams under the leadership of SDOP Chitrangi under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Shiv Kumar Verma. With the continuous coordination of the three teams, the accused Abhishek Pandey, son of Anil Pandey (30 years), resident of Kulhaiya, Police Station Garhwa, District Singrauli was identified and taken into custody from Chitrangi.
During interrogation, the accused confessed his crime. The police seized a 32 bore pistol and the vehicle used in the incident from the possession of the accused.
