Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, expressed strong objections today over the statement made by Delhi Minister Kailash Gehlot during the 'Independence Day Program' organized by the Delhi Government at Chhatrasal Stadium. Minister Gehlot had referred to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a "modern freedom fighter," which Gupta strongly condemned. He stated that Gehlot's remarks are not only misleading to the public but also an insult to the thousands of brave sons and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence.
Gupta further criticized Gehlot for glorifying an individual who is the mastermind behind a massive financial scandal related to Delhi's excise policy, currently incarcerated and under investigation by multiple agencies. Gupta emphasized that the gravity of the charges against this individual is evident from the repeated denials of bail by various courts.
