Mayawati predicts change at Centre

Tuesday, 21 May 2024 | PNS | Lucknow

Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Monday predicted a change in power at the Centre.

Mayawati, who reached Lucknow to cast her vote in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections on Monday, answered the questions of the media. She also answered questions related to the removal of her nephew and BSP leader Akash Anand from the post of party coordinator.

Mayawati also made predictions about the result of the 2024 general elections. She said that this time the Central government was going to change.

In this election, Mayawati is constantly being accused of helping the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Predicting about the election results, Mayawati said, “I think there will be a change this time because the public is completely silent and they are not speaking much openly. The public is seeing everything that is happening.”

Mayawati arrived in Lucknow from where sitting MP and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is pitted against Samajwadi Party’s Ravidas Mehrotra and BSP’s Mohammad Sarwar Malik.

Was Akash Anand removed under pressure from BJP? In response to this question, Mayawati said, “I have already tweeted about it and now I do not want to say anything about it.”

On questions about taking action under pressure from BJP, Mayawati said, “Look, what anyone says about it, I have nothing to do with it. I have already tweeted about it.”

Akash Anand was giving aggressive speeches against the BJP and its top leaders in his election rallies, after which Mayawati removed him from the post of national coordinator of BSP.

After casting her vote, Mayawati said, “People should come out of their homes and go to their respective booths in large numbers to cast their votes. Have refreshments later, first go to cast your vote. I would also like to say that this time we are seeing that the elections are being held on allegations and counter-allegations and not on public interest issues. That is why I say that all parties should give priority to public interest issues.”

On BJP’s claim of crossing the 400 seats-mark, Mayawati said, “All parties are claiming their victory but when the results come, it will be known and the truth will be revealed.
On the claim of INDIA bloc, Mayawati said that these people were claiming victory last time also.
