Massive fire at 5th floor of State Mantralaya

Fire broke out on the fifth floor in the mantralaya building in Bhopal on Saturday. The massive fire took more than 5 hours to pacify.

A fire broke out at around 9.30 am on Saturday morning on the fifth floor of a large building between gate numbers 5 and 6 of Mantralaya Vallabh Bhawan in Bhopal. Within no time the fire spread to the fourth and third floors also.

Apart from Bhopal, Raisen, Vidisha, more than 100 fire engines and tankers of Airport, BHEL and Army were busy in pacifying the fire.

During this time, army soldiers climbed the building and pacified the fire. During this, the SDRF jawan got injured in his eye. More than 200 policemen were deployed at the spot. The fire could be controlled after 3 hours.

The government has formed a 7-member committee to investigate the fire. The committee will submit the preliminary investigation report in 3 days, while the detailed report will have to be submitted in 15 days. The committee will be headed by ACS Health Mohammad Suleman. In which, Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Dubey, Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary PWD DP Ahuja, Additional Director General Fire Services Ashutosh Rai, Bhopal Division Commissioner Pawan Sharma, Commissioner Police Harinarayan Chari are included as members.

Since it was the second Saturday of the month, there were not many employees in the building. The five employees trapped in the building were taken out, 2 employees were taken to hospital.

On receiving information about the fire, PCC Chief Jitu Patwari also reached Vallabh Bhawan. But, the police stopped them from going further. Angered by this, the Patwari sat on strike in front of Vallabh Bhawan. He said that is a government fire, it has been set deliberately.
