On Saturday, a tragic incident claimed the life of 43-year-old motorcycle rider Vikas Ranjan Pandey after he collided with a JCB near Bhikhai Mor in the Garhwa police station area along the Garhwa-Shahpur road. Pandey, who was the son of Ravindra Pandey and resided in Rajwadih village in the Palamu district, served as a peon at the Garhwa Civil Court.
Eyewitnesses report that the accident took place while Pandey was traveling from Palamu to the Garhwa court on his motorcycle. A JCB allegedly struck his bike, resulting in severe injuries. A passerby, along with other locals, quickly took him to Sadar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors upon arrival.
In response to the incident, local police promptly secured Pandey's body for investigation. An autopsy was performed before returning the body to his mourning family.
Authorities have seized the damaged motorcycle and the JCB involved in the accident for further examination. The tragic event has elicited an outpouring of grief among Pandey's family, as well as advocates and court personnel at the Garhwa Civil Court, who have expressed their heartfelt condolences.
