Maihar district police have arrested drug peddlers smuggling Cannabis weighing 50 kg worth Rs 3 lakh along with this, a four-wheeler used to transport the drugs illegally. The police have also arrested 7 smugglers in the case.
On June 8, 2024, the Badera police station of Maihar district conducted a checking campaign during this, Innova car number MP19CA2888 and Baleno car number MP 19CB 9579 near Patehra on village Bhadanpur Karmatia Road were stopped and when the cars were checked police seized a total of 50 kg filled in two sacks from the Innova car.
The nabbed accused were identified as Saddam and Aman Khan alias Sheikhu who were travelling in the car, were arrested.
Five other smugglers, Maqsood Khan, Mohammad Tahir, Arun Dahiya, Mohit Sharma and Batla were also arrested.
Meanwhile taking action against illegal betting and gambling, a team of Kotwali Police Station and Mandi Police Station I raided a farm house near village Mudla on the information received from an informer, in which 12 people were caught gambling from whom Rs 27.5 lakh in cash, 16 mobile phones, three four-wheelers were recovered.
The arrested accused were identified as Manoj of Nasrullaganj Sehore, Brijesh Yadav of Dewas, Sandeep Dubey of Sehore, Aqak Ali of Bhopal, Praveen Sharma of Bhopal, Nasir Qureshi of Ashta, Zoheb of Shajapur, Yogesh Agarwal of Harda, Naveen Sharma of Sehore, Sher Khan of Ujjain, Quresh Khan of Ujjain and Ibrahim Qureshi of Bhopal.
In the preliminary investigation against the arrested accused Naveen Sharma has been found to have committed crimes of gambling and betting in police station Ashta and police station Rehti in the past.
