Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti celebrated in CCL

Thursday, 03 October 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

On the occasion of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, CCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Nilendu Kumar Singh offered flowers to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. On this special occasion, programs were organized in all areas including CCL headquarters.

On this occasion, Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Singh, Director (Technical/Operations), Harish Duhan, heads of various departments, workers and a large number of Safai Mitras were present. All those present paid tribute to Bapu.

Remembering the Father of the Nation, Singh said that the life of Mahatma Gandhi is an inspiration. He said "We all should learn from his thoughts and actions. Everyone should imbibe the values stated by him; simplicity, truth and non-violence in their lives."

Also, remembering Lal Bahadur Shastri, the symbol of simplicity and compassion, the CMD said that we all should make his slogan of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” meaningful and make his dreams come true by taking the oath of serving the Nation.

CCL's Swachhata Mitras were also present during this program. Jute bags, shoes, T-shirts, gloves, sanitizers and sweets were distributed among them. Singh also thanked them for their contribution in keeping the CCL premises clean.

It is known that today was also the last day of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign run by the Government of India. This Swachhata Pakhwada started from September 17, which had its last day today on October 2. During this, various citizen-centric places were cleaned by running a cleanliness campaign in all areas including the headquarters.

Under this, many schools and public water reservoirs were also cleaned. The main objective of this campaign was to make people aware about the disposal of garbage, waste materials and clean environment. During this campaign, many free camps were also organized for the health check-up of Swachhata Mitras and saplings were also planted under the 'Ek Ped Maa' initiative dedicated to environmental protection.

At the end of this program, everyone took a pledge to adopt the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and build a clean and healthy Nation.
