LoP raises issue of Bangladeshi intruders in House

Tuesday, 30 July 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Amar Kumar Bauri on Monday sought answers from the government on the issue of Bangladeshi intrusion in many districts of the state.

Talking to journalists in the assembly, the LoP said that the government of JMM, Congress and RJD is maintaining a mysterious silence especially on the question of soil, bread and daughter of the tribals. The government is ignoring the questions of the opposition. He said how the government is allowing the land of the tribals here to be looted and allowing atrocities on daughters.

He said that there has been an unexpected decline in the population of tribals in Santhal Pargana and this is happening in the whole of Jharkhand. Jamran Hembram and Hopni Marandi's land was looted in Gayabthan of Maheshpur police station area of Pakur and when they tried to reclaim their land, Bangladeshis beat them up and chased them away. Even after the incident, no case was registered against the accused for several days. After political and social pressure, finally a case was registered on the 18th.

He said that when the students of K M College tried to take out a public outrage rally against this loot on July 27, which was also informed to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of the district, the police and goons attacked the students late at night and beat them up a night before. Not only this, the police also tried to change the whole matter by calling it a case of kidnapping.

The LoP said that this government is only wearing a mask of being a well-wisher of the tribals, while the truth is something else which is not hidden from anyone.

He said that recently in Gopinathpur village of Pakur, people of the Muslim community of West Bengal, who are Bangladeshi infiltrators, attacked the villagers and carried out incidents of looting, assault, bombing, arson, clashes broke out between two communities during the Muharram procession in Taranagar, clashes broke out between two communities during the Muharram procession in Ilahinagar and Mahudi, the Palestinian flag was hoisted in the Muharram procession in many districts of the state and the government is demanding proof of this from the opposition.

The LoP said that the district administration did not issue the caste certificate of a Mahadalit student who was to be enrolled in Navodaya Vidyalaya, saying that he did not have any Khatian. On the other hand, the government has issued Scheduled Caste certificates to Anahar Bibi, Sebi Bibi, Kalsoom Khatun, Taraful Bibi, Laful Bibi, Sulekha Bibi, who run food supply shops. This government is busy in settling such intruders by usurping the rights of not only the tribals but also the people of the scheduled caste community. The government officials are settling Bangladeshis by making fake Aadhaar cards, voter cards, caste certificates.

The Leader of Opposition said that the SPT Act is applicable in the entire Santhal Pargana, despite this the government is settling intruders on the uncultivated land which is government land in a fraudulent manner. He said that in Sahibganj region's account number 187, Khasra 241, 243244, 258, 269, 272, 273, 293, 300, 302.329, 333, 338, 352, 355, 357, 36148, 65, 83, 84, 86, 88, 113114, 121, 127, 133, 138 and other account numbers, 17 acres of land on which a pond was already built, mosque and graveyard have been built and intruders have been settled there. Thousands of acres of such uncultivated land have been occupied and its mutation is also being done.

Bauri demanded that the government should answer on these issues and form an SIT to investigate the entire matter. If the government does not have such an intention, then the government should give it in writing in the House and the Bharatiya Janata Party, with the help of the Central Government, will get the entire matter investigated by the Central Agency and identify all the intruders and send them back to their country from here.
