Lalit Das elevated to DGP rank

Top cop Lalit Das has been elevated to the DGP rank and given in-situ promotion.

 

Presently, Das is serving as Chief of Human Rights Protection for the State of Odisha and will continue in the assignment with the promotion.

 

The Department of General Administration brought out a notification in this regard on Thursday.

 

Das, who belongs to the 1992 IPS Batch, is an experienced IPS officer with a demonstrated history of working in the law enforcement sector. He is empowered with analytical skills, framing public policies, community policing and disaster management.

 

A strong military and protective services professional with a police executive programme focused in police studies and management from the University of Cambridge and Public Policy from Maxwell School of Public Policy, Syracuse University, New York, USA, Das has been calling shots in the cadre.

 

Interestingly, Das is a professional saxophone player and a bicycle enthusiast. He is a nature lover and undertakes roadside plantations and watering them daily.
