The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) held a press conference today. Accusing the BJP, it said that Wednesday is the voting day and there is a silent period right now. But even during this time, the BJP is creating confusion and violating the model code of conduct.
JMM General Secretary cum National Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that many videos are running on BJP's social media platform even during the silent period. If seen, these posts are also a violation of the model code of conduct, he added. He said that a complaint has been made to the Election Commission regarding this matter and a complaint letter has been written.
Bhattacharya JMM further said that the Election Commission has not given any decision on our complaint. "No action is being taken on these complaints. Many complaints have been lodged so far. BJP leaders are campaigning on social media Twitter handles, which is a violation of silent periods. Election Commission should be asked to register a criminal case under the IT Act," he added.
JMM General Secretary also said that BJP people have shown hooliganism in Chandankyari. "It seems that BJP is working on the lines of Bengal in Jharkhand. Is the model code of conduct only for us? Abuse is being hurled at tribal identity but the Election Commission is silent. He alleged that BJP candidates in Chandankyari beat up people in their convoy. BJP wants to try to incite violence in elections in Jharkhand on the lines of Bengal. There was a dispute in Dumka too. A complaint was lodged with the police. Police came but by then some people had fled from there. He said that finally people have understood the BJP. People will vote against them," he added.
