Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on Monday, said that Jharkhand should have got at least one Cabinet Minister and one Minister of State. For implementing Sarna Dharma Code, caste census, 27 per cent reservation for backward classes, Jharkhand MPs should have got more share in Modi cabinet but they did not get it, the party said.

Addressing a press meet JMM General Secretary and Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that only Annapurna Devi got one cabinet, she is Santhal's daughter, she is Koderma's daughter-in-law, many congratulations for this but they did not get any Dalit MP from here who is connected to the soil of Jharkhand. “Many senior leaders have been elected from Jharkhand and become Lok Sabha MPs. BJP ignored all of them. Because all of them were people connected to Jharkhand. They were natives. Their ancestors were natives,” he added. Targeting the Modi Government, he said, they made such a person a Minister who did not raise even a single question in the Parliament in 5 years on the closed HEC.

Bhattacharya further said that they have given the charge of Minister of State to those MPs who have been opposing the policies of the Central Government which sucked the blood of thousands of workers. “It is a strange irony. You have given a cabinet ministry to your colleague who has only one member. But you have shown the finger to your supporting organization here. Now these people will keep following them. In the assembly elections, such people will be seen pleading for tickets. Now how will they be able to tell the people of Jharkhand that our commitment is linked to the tribals and natives here. The MP of their supporting party is also a two-time MP. He is a son of the soil. He is a local. He is a native. But he was sidelined,” he added.

The JMM General Secretary further said, whatever they used to say before the elections, Ghuspaithia- intruder, they themselves have proved it. He said, still now their first task should be the revival of HEC, guarantee of Sarna Dharma Code, 27 per cent reservation for backward classes and amendment in 44 sections of labour law. “I came to know that when the MPs here started taking oath, there was darkness in their office in Ranchi. Some people were hired. Symbolic celebrations took place in Ratu Road and Lalpur. No BJP leader was present in this,” he added.

Bhattacharya further said, out of the 240 BJP members who have won, only 115 MPs are native party members. “Also, there are 125 MPs who have come to BJP from other parties. That is why enthusiasm is not visible in BJP today. The BJP which used to talk about Modi's government, Modi's guarantee, today it has to say my leader, Chandrababu Naidu, my leader Nitish Kumar, my leader Chirag Paswan, my leader Eknath Shinde. Keeping in mind the state's interest, Jharkhand should have got at least one more Cabinet Minister, one more State Minister,” he added.
