JMM attacks Central Government for misusing ED

Tuesday, 30 January 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Ruling party of the State Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on Monday, attacked the Central Government and the Enforcement  Directorate (ED) over the Central Agency’s raid on the Chief Minister's residence and Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi.

The Party General Secretary cum Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that today's action has been taken to scare JMM, which the party workers are not afraid of. BJP, which cannot compete politically with JMM and cannot go among the people, is misusing agencies. He said these things during a press conference organized in the party office.

“The ED itself had written a letter to the Chief Minister asking him to fix the time and date for further inquiry. ED had given time from 29 to 31 January. Then what is the reason behind such action and the action to spoil the political atmosphere of the state? On whose instructions did ED reach Delhi? On December 20, a team of 7 officers led by the Assistant Commissioner of ED reached the Chief Minister's residence. For about seven hours, ECIR was 20/22, 17 to 18 questions were asked. But during interrogation, the case was not found in the file of Schedule Progressive Crime. All the information about the cases is registered with the Election Commission. Income Tax has all the information,” said Bhattacharya.

The party Spokesperson further said that the Chief Minister has nothing to do with Sohrai Bhawan and his wife looks after his work. The Election Commission already has all the information. He said that the land which ED is making the basis of its action is actually land which cannot be bought or sold. “Chief Minister Hemant Soren has gone to Delhi for some personal work. He is in Delhi only. Not traceless. If Babulal Marandi wants to meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he will have to take an appointment first. We will arrange for them to meet,” he added.

Bhattacharya said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has gone to Delhi for some personal work. “He is in Delhi only. Not traceless. If Babulal Marandi wants to meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he will have to take an appointment first for which he will have to apply. We will arrange for him to meet,” he added.
Meanwhile, the gathering of JMM workers at Morabadi ground of the State Capital had started since early morning on Monday. In fact, on Monday, workers from Ramgarh, Khunti, Simdega and Garhwa districts including Ranchi gathered and then marched towards Raj Bhavan.

This time JMM workers changed their old fixed route and came from Sido-Kanhu Park via Premsons Motor to Kanke Road near the Chief Minister's residence. Here the police administration stopped them but the crowd of thousands did not stop. A crowd of about 10 thousand workers is violating Section 144 and moving forward through CM House, Kanke Road. The workers are holding party flags in their hands and raising slogans against the central government and BJP.

Anger is being seen among JMM workers after the arrival of ED officers at the Chief Minister's residence in Delhi. In view of the political activity, Ranchi District Police-Administration has strengthened the security arrangements from the Chief Minister's residence to the entire Raj Bhavan. A large number of policemen have also been deployed. But JMM workers are not ready to accept.
