It rains in 24 districts, Bhopal records heavy rainfall on Tuesday

Heavy rainfall was witnessed as the monsoon system remained strong in the state on Tuesday and due to its impact it rained in more than 24 districts.

In 9 hours between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, Rewa received the maximum rainfall of 4 inches. Due to this, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had to virtually launch the Swachhata Hi Seva program. He joined the program virtually from Dumna Airport in Jabalpur.

According to the scheduled program, the CM was to come to Chakghat in Rewa at 2.30 pm today. The program was held here in the Krishi Upaj Mandi premises. People did attend it, but due to bad weather, the CM's helicopter could not fly from Jabalpur to Rewa. In such a situation, CM and Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla addressed virtually.

On Tuesday, 3 inches of rainfall was recorded in Sidhi, 2 inches in Satna, 1.25 inches in Sagar, 1 inch in Mandla, 45 inches in Gwalior and Narsinghpur. About half an inch of rainfall was recorded in Damoh and Jabalpur. Heavy rain occurred in Bhopal at around 7 pm. Similarly, rain continued in Dhar, Guna, Shivpuri, Chhindwara, Khajuraho, Seoni, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Balaghat districts.

In Balaghat, 7064 cusecs (200 cumecs) of water is being released by opening two gates of Bawanthadi Dam.

The weather department has predicted rain in many districts at night. However, the system will move ahead from Wednesday. This will stop the heavy rain.

On Tuesday, Rewa received 4 inches of rain in 9 hours. The CM had to postpone his visit.  In Balaghat, water is being released by opening two gates of Bawanthadi Dam.

More than 200 out of about 282 dams in Madhya Pradesh have been filled this time. The gates of many dams including Indira Sagar, Omkareshwar, Madikheda, Kerwa, Kaliyasot, Kolar, Bhadbhada, Tawa, Bargi, Mohanpura, Halali, Atal Sagar, Tighra, Bansujara, Johila have been opened.

In the state capital after light drizzle and sunshine throughout the day, heavy rainfall started in Bhopal in the evening, drenching many areas of the city, power supply was disrupted of over more than 50 colonies.

The Meteorological Department had also issued an alert of heavy rain today, but the weather was sunny and humid since morning. There was also drizzle in some areas in the afternoon, but it was not giving relief from heat and humidity.

At 5 pm, the weather changed and cold winds started blowing. At 6:15 pm, rain started in many areas including MP Nagar, Ayodhya Bypass, Raisen Road, MP Nagar, Tulsi Nagar, New Market, Karond. After 4 days, there has been some relief from humidity due to heavy rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will remain the same at night as well.

Last year, 18% less rain than normal, that is, 82% (30.9 inches), while this year 49.5 inches of rain has fallen. That is, 18.6 inches more rain has been recorded than last year. On the other hand, this time 31% more water has been recorded than normal.

The rain quota in September is 7 inches. This time, 7.7 inches of water has been recorded so far. That is, more rain has fallen than the quota. There was good rainfall in September,  65 years ago, in the year 1961, there is a record of 30.2 inches of rain in the entire month. Last year, 12.8 inches of rain was recorded in September.
