It is necessary to improve visitors and community management: Shah

A workshop on capacity development, personality development and museum management skills was organized today by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal at Shailkala Dharohar Bhawan. The workshop was conducted by Atul Shah, Director, Goa Institute of Training and Learning, Goa, and Kiran Shah, along with two of their colleagues.

At the beginning of the program, the guests were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers, after which the Director of the manav sangrahalaya, Prof. Amitabh Pandey introduced the guests.

On this occasion, Atul Shah conducted an exercise to enhance the self-development capabilities of the officers and staff and to use it in museum management and made them realize how capacity development takes place.

Kiran Shah taught and made the participants experiment with various methods to enable them to develop communication skills and leadership skills in their working areas So that the visitors and community management coming to the museum can be improved. Dr Shah said that these activities will enable the visitors to reap the benefits of living culture through capacity building and participatory models.

Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Curator, Soma Keero said that the training of this workshop will enable the participants to make better assessments in their respective areas of work, ensure biodiversity conservation and natural resource management and mainstream the participation of the local community in the museum.

Administrative Officer Hemant Bahadur Singh Parihar said that through this training all the participants have gained comprehensive understanding on personality, communication and community participation leadership skills. Library and Information Officer  Sudhir Shrivastava said that the participants will be able to plan, develop and implement mechanisms to engage visitors in their respective areas of work. The program was conducted by Sudhir Srivastava and at the end of the program, the administrative officer Hemant Bahadur Singh Parihar gave the vote of thanks.
