Indore Comm addresses conference of integrative medicine

Monday, 01 July 2024 | PNS | indore

A one-day national conference of experts on medicinal use of natural herbs and forest wealth was organized. During the Covid pandemic, it was felt that along with physical and mental health, social and economic health is also very important for us. I think that through integrative medicine, we can also develop the society holistically on these parameters. Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh said this at the National Conference of Integrative Medicine organized at Shri Aurobindo University on Saturday.

He said that on the one hand obesity and the problems caused by it are causing problems for people, while many people are also struggling with the problem of malnutrition. In such a situation, instead of depending completely on any one medical system, if we treat patients with a combination of modern, ancient and traditional medical systems, then their chances of quick recovery will increase. Especially, in our country, the documentation and authentication of the medical information that has been passed on from generation to generation through oral tradition is very important.

Each plant produced in the forest has its own importance. Retired PCCF Dr. PC Dubey addressed the workshop and elaborated on the action plan of the entire event. He said that special efforts need to be made to increase the health and diversity of the forests. The plants produced in the forest have their own importance. The forest will have to be re-established. Special efforts will have to be made to strengthen the nature and the fabric of the forest. Herbs have special importance in medical methods. There is a need to preserve the knowledge of experts of forest herbs living in remote forest areas. For this, their knowledge will be compiled and established in a scientific way. This initiative will provide a new direction to the conservation of forests and forest management.

The founder president of the university, Dr. Vinod Bhandari, said that there are many such herbal medicines, whose treatment will collect evidence of cured patients and publish it in world-class research journals. With this, patients will be able to benefit from these medicines at national and international level as well. Retired PCCF Dr. PC Dubey said that this effort will prove beneficial in better health of humans as well as forests, animals, land, water sources as well as the entire nature through the special initiative of Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh and this effort with Shri Aurobindo Hospital.

The university's pro-chancellor Dr. Mohit Bhandari proved the importance of integrated medicine while sharing personal experiences, pro-chancellor Dr. Mehak Bhandari gave information about the Shri Aurobindo group. Prof. Sanjay Vyas of Holkar Science College said that just as in an emergency we can save a person's life by giving CPR in the golden time, similarly the time has come to give CPR to the entire environment through integrated medicine. For this we have to collect, preserve and restore information (CPR).

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Jyoti Bindal, Dean (Students Welfare) Dr. Jayshree Taparia and Registrar Dr. Anand Mishra also addressed. On this occasion, traditional Vaidyas, herbal experts and forest department officials from Indore, Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khandwa and Ujjain etc. also participated. Health cards were also distributed by Shri Aurobindo Hospital for free treatment to provide information on forest herbs.
