‘Youth should make EV a part of their life’
Chandigarh: For a secure future, youth should make Electric Vehicles as a part of their life, said Chandigarh Renewable Energy for Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST) project director Sukhwinder Singh, while addressing the representatives of EV manufacturing companies and the city residents who were present for participating in the valedictory program of three days expo on Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicle Expo organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with CREST on Sunday. Chandigarh Administration is offering subsidies to EV buyers in the city, and youths should play an important role in taking forward this campaign at new levels, he said.
PU’s Indian Theatre Dept organizes a national seminar
Chandigarh: Celebrating the World Theatre Day, Panjab University’s Department of Indian Theatre on Sunday organized a national seminar on “Theatre: Indispensable in the Digital Age”. National School of Drama, New Delhi, director Chittaranjan Tripathy gave the keynote address, while Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, director Abhishek Sharma (an Alumni of the Department) was present among the dignitaries.
Punjab Kings players visit Chandigarh Spinal Rehab
Chandigarh: The players of Punjab Kings XI team — captain Shikhar Dhawan, Arshdeep Singh, Jitesh Sharma and Harpreet Brar — on Sunday visited the Chandigarh Spinal Rehab in Sector-28, bringing smiles to the inmates. The players interacted with the patients with spinal injuries, and also took a round of the Centre to see rehabilitation facilities. An audio visual presentation was also given to apprise the players about the activities of Chandigarh Spinal Rehab. Centre’s founder-CEO Nicky P Kaur said that it was a big moment for everyone at Chandigarh Spinal Rehab to welcome the players.
Mauritian Musical Group enthrals city music lovers
Chandigarh: Patyatann — a Mauritian musical group — on Sunday gave a scintillating performance at Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26. The 90-minute show brought alive five versatile musicians — Sarasvati Mallac, Anthony Bouic, Kan Chan Kin, Cledy François, and Stephan Paul. Formed in 2012, the group came up with compositions in Sanskrit, French, and Creole, as well as their Mauritian stories, sounds and rhythms with the public.
