Shimla Rashtrapati Niwas to host Winter Fest celebrating Himachal's cultural heritage

Shimla: The Rashtrapati Niwas in Shimla, which serves as the summer retreat of the President of India, is set to host an exclusive edition of the Winter Fest on December 7, an official statement said on Wednesday. The one-day event will be dedicated to celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, in line with the President’s vision of transforming the President’s Estates into cultural hubs. The festival will feature a performance by the Himachal Pradesh Orchestra Band, Harmony of Pines, along with traditional group dances by local artists and a special singing performance by an Indian Idol participant. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore authentic local crafts and food stalls, showcasing the essence of Himachali traditions and cuisine, the statement said. Since its public opening in April 2023, the Niwas has welcomed over 1.1 lakh visitors, offering them an immersive cultural experience.

Hry Govt issues instructions to Administrative Secretaries on Vigilance reports

Chandigarh: The Haryana Government on Wednesday issued instructions to all Administrative Secretaries regarding the handling of matters, complaints, source reports, and inquiry reports referred by the Vigilance Department. These documents must be returned with their respective comments or reports to the Vigilance Department, it stated. According to an official, a letter issued by the Haryana Chief Secretary emphasized that some Administrative Departments are not taking this instruction seriously, often responding only by stating that they have filed the matter at their own level instead of providing the required comments or reports. This non-compliance with the directive has been regarded with utmost seriousness by the government. As a result, it has been mandated that all Administrative Secretaries ensure strict adherence to these instructions for all matters, complaints, source reports, and inquiry reports referred by the Vigilance Department to their respective Administrative Departments, the spokesperson added.

Haryana Govt  constitutes high powered Lohgarh project development committee

Chandigarh: Haryana Government on Wednesday  constituted a High Powered committee namely Lohgarh Project Development Committee to monitor the progress of work on the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Centre at Logarh in district Yamunanagar.  An official spokesman said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved a proposal in this regard. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will serve as the Chief Patron of the Committee and Chief Minister Saini as Chairman. He said that while Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Sh Manohar Lal will serve as the Chief Patron of the Committee, Saini will be the Chairman. OSD Dr Prabhleen Singh will be the Member Secretary of the Committee.

No compromise on construction material quality of roads, buildings: Hry Minister

Chandigarh; Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Ranbir Gangwa said no compromise on the quality of material used in the construction of roads and buildings will be tolerated. Any compromise in quality will not only lead to action against the construction agency but also against the concerned officers and employees. Gangwa said this while interacting with journalists at his office in the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. The Public Works Minister stated that transparency has been a hallmark of their work in the past and will continue to be so in the future. It is due to this transparency and impartiality that Haryana has a double-engine government for the third time.

Attack on former Pb Dy CM unfortunate: Anil Vij


Chandigarh: Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday  termed the attack on former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal in front of the Golden Temple as unfortunate and condemnable. He said the agencies are investigating this incident and only after investigation it will be known as to what was the motive behind the attack. Vij said the law and order situation in Punjab has deteriorated and the state government is not paying any attention to this. On farmers' protest, he said the central government is farmer-friendly. The government has implemented many schemes for the welfare of farmers and is taking all the demands of the farmers seriously. He said farmers have been agitating for the past 10 months, but the Punjab Government is not taking it seriously.
