Kaushal Nigam, casual workers will be made permanent: Bhupinder Hooda
Jhajjar: Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda on Wednesday said that the ruling BJP was a shop of lies, which starts selling goods of hatred and confusion as soon as it opens in the morning. Addressing a public meeting in Chhara of the Beri Vidhan Sabha in Jhajjar district, Hooda said the BJP ruled the state for 10 years, but its leaders do not mention a single work in their speeches, rather, due to their selfishness, they keep trying to break the brotherhood of the state. “The lies being spread through BJP's platforms, rallies and social media are the biggest proof of the failure of this government,” he said. He appealed to the public to vote in support of Congress candidate from Beri Assembly Dr. Raghuveer Singh Kadyan. Hooda said that in the elections, on one side there is BJP which makes false promises, while Congress stands on the other side, which keeps its promises. “We do what we say. We have promised to accommodate the contract workers and temporary employees under Kaushal Rojgar Nigam and make them permanent. After the formation of the government, they will be made permanent by making a strong policy. Earlier also we had made thousands of temporary employees permanent and in future also we will take this decision in the interest of the employees,” he said.
Schools in Panchkula to remain closed on October 4, 5
Panchkula: In view of the Haryana Assembly elections, slated for October 5, all schools in Panchkula district, which has two assembly segments — Kalka and Panchkula — will remain closed on October 4 and October 5. Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg said that a holiday had been declared in all schools, including government and private schools, of the district on these two days. He said the employees on poll duty need to reach their assigned places on October 4, from where they will be sent off to the polling booths.
Ram Rahim released on parole for 20 days
Rohtak: Just three days ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, the state government on Wednesday released Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on parole for 20 days. He was released at 6.30 am from Rohtak Jail. After getting a nod from the chief secretary’s office, additional chief secretary (home) Anurag Rastogi had sent the file to DGP (prisons) Muhammad Akil for further action. While the govt had already cleared the file, Congress on Tuesday shot off another complaint to the Election Commission (EC) and Haryana chief electoral officer (CEO) Pankaj Aggarwal against the parole, arguing his release near the election could influence voters and amounts to violation of the model code of conduct.
Gurugram Police recovers illegal liquor, narcotics & cash worth Rs 8.20 cores
Gurugram: Gurugram Police has recovered Rs 8.20 crores of illegal liquor, narcotics and cash ahead of the Haryana elections. Talking to reporters, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon Nishant Kumar Yadav said 12 flying squad teams of the district administration and the police have seized cash, illegal liquor, narcotics and other materials worth Rs 8.20 crores. "The seized items include cash worth Rs 5.80 crore, 28,000 litres of illegal liquor worth Rs 1 crore, drugs and other valuables worth about Rs 1.28 crores," Yadav said. He said that action will be taken against carrying more than 50,000 cash during the Model Code of Conduct. "To maintain law and order and conduct peaceful polling during the Assembly elections, cash and illegal liquor along with other material that can influence the elections are being monitored at the district borders," Yadav asserted.
Strong wave in favour of Congress in Haryana: Sachin Pilot
Yamunanagar; Senior Congress leader and MLA from Rajasthan Sachin Pilot on Wednesday said that the Congress would form a government in Haryana as there was a strong wave of change in the entire Haryana. He said that the INDIA alliance was going to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir also. Overwhelmed by the crowd gathered in the public meeting held in Devdhar village by Congress candidate from Jagadhri Assembly constituency Akram Khan on Wednesday, the Congress leader said that the huge crowd at this rally showed that there was a huge wave blowing in favour of the Congress in Haryana. He said that everyone knew very well that the Centre and state governments of the BJP had done nothing for the welfare of the public in the last ten years. “Only Congress can bring development in the true sense,” Sachin said.
Nilokheri AAP candidate Amar Singh joins Congress
Chandigarh: Amar Singh, who was contesting the elections as the Aam Aadmi Party candidate from the Nilokheri (reserved) seat on Wednesday joined the Congress in the presence of Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa. On the occasion, Amar Singh announced his entry into Congress. Bajwa formally inducted him into the party. Welcoming Amar Singh, Bajwa stated that he has joined the Congress unconditionally and has extended full support to Congress candidate Dharampal Gondar. Bajwa also mentioned that Amar Singh is highly popular within the Sikh community in Nilokheri and has been associated with the Guru Ghar (Sikh religious institution) for the past 25 years. He further added that the Sikh voter population in Nilokheri is approximately 25,000.
