City Park, a well-known family destination in Bokaro Steel City, is famous for its lush greenery, diverse collection of plants and flowers, and serene natural ambiance. Situated in the heart of the city, the park has long been a favored spot for families seeking a peaceful retreat. However, recent developments have tarnished the park’s reputation after a shocking discovery at one of its popular eateries known as Daffodil restaurant.

Notably acting on a confidential tip received, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, the Excise Department carried out a major raid on Sunday at Daffodil restaurant, located within City Park. The raid, conducted under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Excise, resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of illegal liquor.

During the operation, 146 bottles totaling 44.808 liters of foreign liquor, along with 10 bottles of Budweiser beer (500 ml), were confiscated from the hotel. Additionally, fake labels of the Jharkhand government were found, further indicating the hotel's involvement in illegal activities. The hotel’s owner, was arrested on the spot and has been charged under the relevant sections of the Excise Act.

Also the presence of illegal liquor and unapproved extended construction at Daffodil has sparked a broader discussion on the oversight and regulation of businesses operating in public parks.

Following the raid, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav appealed to the public to report any information related to the illegal sale, transport, or storage of liquor in their vicinity. She assured that the identity of the informants would be kept confidential, and immediate action would be taken.

This decisive action by the district administration lead by DC Vijaya Jadhav highlights their commitment to curbing illegal activities and maintaining law and order in the city, reinforcing public confidence in the authorities.
