On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, organized a "Plantation Drive" on Wednesday, under the Government of India's initiative, "Mission Life".
The event saw enthusiastic participation from all faculty members, officers, and personnel of IIFM. The program was graced by the presence of C P Goyal (IFS retd.), Member, Central Empower Committee; Sundeep Kumar Naik (IAS retd), Member, Board of Governors, IIFM and K Ravichandran, Director, IIFM. Who, along with other members, planted local species saplings such as Mahua (Madhuca longifolia), Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) and others planted on the institute premises.
"Mission Life" is an initiative aimed at fostering an environmentally-conscious lifestyle. It encourages individuals to adopt practices that promote 'conscious and deliberate' use of resources, in contrast to 'mindless and destructive consumption'. The event underscored the importance of environmental conservation and the need for collective action to safeguard our planet.
