Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said that the double-engine government of the Centre and Haryana is genuinely pro-poor Government and is continuously working towards economically empowering and strengthening the poor.
“During the Congress Government, the poor had to run from pillar to post to avail benefits of schemes, middlemen, and commission agents had a free run. However, in our government, there are no middlemen, no cuts, no commissions, and no need to run for any recommendations. The benefits of the schemes are directly reaching the accounts of the poor,” said Saini, addressing a state-level programme under the Social Security Pension, Dr BR Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna, and Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana held at the Panipat Anaj Mandi.
Saini said that the government has provided benefits amounting to more than Rs 100.68 crores to 83,633 beneficiaries under three ambitious schemes.
“Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlee Yojana, the goal is to reduce the electricity bills of the poor to zero. Under the Happy Scheme, each member of poor families is given the benefit of free roadways travel up to 1,000 kms per year. Ayushman Bharat Scheme has been expanded under the Chirayu Haryana Scheme to provide health benefits up to Rs five lakhs to Antyodaya families. To ensure that the poor do not face difficulties during their daughter’s wedding, Rs 71,000 is given for the marriage of daughters of poor families under Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana scheme,” he added.
Saini said that the government is committed to fulfilling the dream of providing a roof over every poor person’s head. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 63,000 families have been provided houses, and 16,000 houses are under construction, with keys soon to be handed over to the beneficiaries.
He mentioned that the Dr BR Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna is being implemented for house repairs. Under this scheme, beneficiaries are provided with up to Rs 80,000 for house repairs. Today itself, Rs 15.09 crores have been distributed to 2,003 beneficiaries of the scheme, he added.
