Govt to add 48 lakh women under ambitious JMMSY

The Hemant government has started a new scheme for the empowerment of women. Under this scheme, work is being done on adding 48 lakh women in the initial phase. Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY) is an ambitious scheme of the government.

Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY) is an effective step of the Hemant government to promote women's self-respect, in which women between 21 and 50 years of age will be provided financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month keeping in mind their daily needs. Under the scheme, by the 15th of every month, the government will credit the amount to the single linked bank account of the sisters.

Under this scheme, the eligibility for the beneficiaries has been kept simple. The applicant should be a resident of Jharkhand and should be above 21 years of age and below 50 years. The applicant should have a single bank account linked to Aadhaar. Those whose bank account is not linked to Aadhaar can also avail the benefits of the scheme till December 2024. There should be a voter ID card and Aadhaar card. The applicant's family should hold the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (yellow ration card), Purvvikta Prapt Grihastha Card (pink ration card) / K-Oil Ration Card (white ration card) / separate green ration card of Jharkhand state.

The Hemant government has recently introduced many schemes for the empowerment of women and their economic strengthening. Women were the centre point in these schemes and special care was taken for their economic uplift. Schemes were made especially focusing on women of poor sections, there was a scheme for school going girls, along with this, special attention was paid to how to help the household women who wanted to do small works. These schemes also benefited a lot, the main scheme that was run is this.

 Schemes focused on women empowerment

Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, in which financial assistance is given to girls from class 8th to class 12th and 18/19 years. Under the scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs 40 thousand is available.

Palash Brand - Palash Brand was started with the aim of providing economic self-reliance to the women of Sakhi Mandal of the state and to provide market for the products manufactured by them. About two lakh women of Sakhi Mandal are associated with Palash Brand.

Phoolo Jhano Ashirwad Abhiyan - The scheme has been run with the aim of providing respectable livelihood to women associated with Hadiya / liquor sale and manufacturing work due to compulsion. For the economic self-reliance of such women, assistance of up to 50 thousand is provided. More than 32 thousand women have benefited from the scheme. Women got connected to respectable livelihood.

Bank Credit Linkage - Women groups associated with Sakhi Mandal were provided assistance through bank credit linkage. So that they can pave the way for self-employment for themselves. Before 2021, Rs 640 crore was given to the groups through bank credit linkage, while in the last four and a half years, an amount of about Rs 8,250 crore was given to 1 lakh 40 thousand groups through bank credit linkage.
