Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar inaugurated the second edition of the Industry-Academia Conclave at the Diamond Jubilee Lekkar Hall Complex, NIT Jamshedpur. The event, scheduled from November 15-17, 2024, aims to strengthen collaboration between industry leaders, academic institutions, policymakers, and students.

Highlighting the theme "Developed India Developed Jharkhand 2047", the conclave envisions a progressive roadmap for India’s centenary year of independence. Institute Director, Prof. Dr. Goutam Sutradhar, emphasized the significance of bridging the gap between academic research and real-world industrial challenges to foster innovation and economic growth.

The conclave has attracted representatives from 60 prestigious institutions, including IITs, NITs, and industry giants like Tata Steel, NTPC, ONGC, GAIL, and Coal India. Over 30 stalls showcased advancements in technology and research. Sponsors include SBI, HDFC, Elsevier, and Cambridge Press.

Addressing the audience, Governor Gangwar underscored the importance of aligning academic programs with industrial needs and urged stakeholders to use this platform for effective collaborations. He expressed hope that the event’s outcomes would address critical industrial challenges through advanced academic research.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) President, S.K. Behera, highlighted the benefits of such collaborations, citing the successful partnership between Tata Steel and IIT Mumbai. He noted how these alliances contribute to advanced R&D, job readiness, and entrepreneurship.

On the first day, NIT Jamshedpur signed MoUs with IIT Jodhpur and RVSCET Jamshedpur. Technical events included a panel discussion on "Renewable Energy Integration with Grid for Sustainable Energy Future" and a lecture by MSME Ranchi Director, Mr. Indrajit Yadav, on fostering MSME-academia collaborations.

The day concluded with a cultural program by NIT Jamshedpur students. The conclave is led by senior advisor Dr. Suvokamal Dutta, with key contributions from Prof. Amresh Kumar, Prof. M.K. Sinha, Registrar Col. Nishith Kumar Rai, and other faculty members.

This three-day event promises to be a landmark initiative, paving the way for a self-reliant and developed India, while fostering Jharkhand’s growth as an industrial and academic hub.
