Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today interacted with young women in Ranchi, and enquired about women empowerment. Interacting with women Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that, promoting women, better education of daughters, development of sisters and bringing change in the lives of sisters and daughters is the mission of my life. Shivraj said that, we are running a campaign to make every girl a millionaire through self-help groups, Lakhpati Didi means every sister's income should be more than 10 thousand rupees per month and more than 1 lakh rupees annually. Our resolution is to bring a new light by removing darkness from the lives of sisters.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while interacting with the sisters, said that, since childhood, I had seen in my village and surroundings that, there was discrimination between son and daughter, if a son was born, there was celebration and if a daughter was born, the mother's face would turn pale.
Apart from this, I had also seen the problems in the lives of sisters. Since then, I had this feeling in my mind that I have to do something for my sisters and daughters. I used to preach that, if there is a daughter, there is tomorrow, if you do not save a daughter, then from where will you get a daughter-in-law. When I became an MLA, I started getting poor daughters married and when I became the Chief Minister, I decided that a daughter is not a burden but a blessing and a daughter will be born on the land of Madhya Pradesh as a millionaire. After which, the Ladli Laxmi Yojana was first created in Madhya Pradesh and today there are more than 50 lakh Ladli Laxmis in the state. Then in Madhya Pradesh, 50% reservation was made for women in local elections. Similarly, after seeing the problems of sisters, it came to my mind that every sister should have a bank account and money should come in it every month. After which the Ladli Behna Yojana was made and today money is coming in the accounts of crores of sisters every month. This scheme has brought revolutionary changes in the lives of sisters.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that, in order to provide better and free education to daughters, we have decided in Madhya Pradesh that education from class 1 to PG will be free. Poor children are not able to pay the fees charged in private colleges, medical colleges, engineering colleges. Many children get selected in MBBS, engineering through different examinations, but due to the huge fees, they are not able to take admission. Therefore, we decided in Madhya Pradesh that we will pay the fees of sons and daughters as well. Today, the government also pays the fees of medical colleges and engineering colleges in Madhya Pradesh, so that daughters can get higher education. Daughters are being given free books, free bicycles to go to other villages for studies. Then a scheme was made, Gaon Ki Beti Yojana, then Pratibha Kiran Yojana if they go to college. Many such schemes have been made. There is a need to make such schemes at many places for the development and welfare of daughters. We will work to improve the future of daughters by running these schemes in Jharkhand too.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that Jharkhand has immense possibilities for industries. This is a rich land of poor people, there is so much here, different types of minerals are here, there is forest here, there is water here, but the government here did not have the will power, so development could not happen. Investment can be brought in Jharkhand, industries can come here, local sons and daughters can get employment in them. We will work towards bringing investment and industries in Jharkhand, we will also make every effort so that the sons and daughters here can get employment, and they do not have to go to other cities. We will work for a better future for the youth of Jharkhand.
