Dharamsastra National Law University organized a one-day training/ awareness program on Menstruation and Human Rights in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission on the Saturday at 10:30 am.
DNLU is the foremost law institution in the country to have implemented the Menstrual Leave Policy for students, in the pursuit to promote Menstrual Care.
This comprehensive program aims to delve into crucial aspects of Human rights in connection to Menstrual Care and its sensitization in society at large featuring professional speakers from diverse backgrounds.
The keynote speakers were Dr. Sujata from Delhi University, Dr. Veena Roshan Jose from Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, Krishna Kumar from Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar and Dr. Praveen Tripathi from Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur.
They addressed issues comprising Menstrual Taboos, menstrual fairness about health and hygiene, and the Menstrual Leave Policy at Workplaces and Educational Institutions.
DNLU succeeded in spreading awareness about the same in schools and institutions of Jabalpur by visiting them and inviting them to our event.
In return, an esteemed government school in Jabalpur has invited a guest speaker from DNLU to give a session on Gender sensitization and Menstrual Health and Hygiene for Adolescent Girls in their school.
During the event, the teams from schools and institutions in Jabalpur were present to discuss and deliberate the issues revolving around Menstrual Care, Sensitisation, and other stigmas surrounding the topic.
