District administration collects samples from RJ Confectionery in Indore

Sampling and inspection action was taken at various places in Indore by the team formed under the direction of Indore Collector Ashish Singh and guidance of Additional Collector Gaurav Benal. The team conducted a surprise inspection of RJ Confectionery located at Industrial Area Sanwer Road. On the spot, a total of 6 samples were taken for testing when the quality of raw material and finished confectionary being used in the manufacturing of confectionary was found to be doubtful.

Apart from this, if the quality of the food color titanium dioxide used in the manufacturing is doubtful, a total quantity of 40 kg whose estimated value is around Rs 4 thousand and the total quantity of prepared confectionary lollipops and jellies whose total quantity is around 500 kg, whose total value is around Rs 65 thousand, was confiscated.

Besides, another establishment Champion Ice Cream, Tigriya Badshah Indore was also surprise inspected and two samples of the food item Frozen Dessert were taken and the total quantity of 165 liters was seized due to doubt over the quality.

  Similarly, surprise inspection was conducted by the team at Parag Enterprises, Nandalapura. On the spot, the vendor was found to be doing food business without food registration. When ghee, the food item kept for sale in the premises, is tested using mobile food testing lab, primarily if there is a suspicion of adulteration of vegetable in the ghee, a total of 6 samples of food items stored in the premises - ghee, vegetable, mustard oil, groundnut oil, etc. are tested and taken for lab testing.

On suspicion of the said food items being adulterated, a total quantity of 930 kg whose total value was approximately Rs 2 lakh 75 thousand was seized till further action. Also, due to doing food business without food registration, the food business was closed until food registration was obtained. All the samples are being sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory, Bhopal for testing, after receiving the report, legal action will be taken.
