Dist administration raids commercial establishments using domestic LPG

Acting against commercial establishments using domestic LPG, the district administration conducted raids at several locations in the state capital on Friday and confiscated 26 cylinders of the subsidised cooking fuel.

The action, based on directives issued by Food Minister Govind Singh Rajput to the district collector, was carried out under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

Formed by District Supply Controller Meena Malakar, the raid parties comprising Kusum Ahirwar, Pushparaj Patil, Sanad Shukla, Mohit Meghwanshi, and Mayank Dwivedi conducted surprise checks at Kanasaiya, Mata Mandir Chowk, Narela Shankari, and Bhopal Railway Station, seizing a total of 26 domestic gas cylinders.

During the investigation, an illegal refilling centre operated by Muzaffer Khan near Platinum Plaza was discovered. Four domestic gas cylinders (capacity 14.2 kg), a gas transfer machine, and one electronic weighing scale were seized.

At Sai Ram Gas Stove Sales, run by Nilesh Sahu on J.K. Road, four cylinders were seized.

Non-standard five kg cylinders, one weighing scale, and one gas transfer device were also confiscated.

Sixteen domestic gas cylinders were seized from the residence of Mahendra Thakur at Kanasaiya, while two partially filled cylinders were seized from Ankit Vajpayee of Brijwasi Restaurant.On-site documentation was completed, and cases have been registered. The Collector’s court will take further action.
