From June 21 to July 15, a pension/disability camp is being organized in the district. Dr. Sunil Kumar, an ENT specialist at Sadar Hospital Bokaro, was assigned to the camp. However, Dr. Kumar has been absent, causing significant inconvenience to the attendees, particularly those needing disability certificates for ENT-related conditions. Due to complaints from the public and local representatives, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav has demanded an explanation from Dr. Sunil Kumar.
The office has issued a letter instructing Dr. Kumar to submit his response within 24 hours. The state government’s ambitious Sarvajan Pension Scheme aims to ensure that all eligible individuals receive benefits without exclusion. To achieve this, the district administration has scheduled camps in various blocks, facilitating the issuance of disability certificates and the collection of pension applications. The absence of the doctor is hampering this objective.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Kumar has a history of prolonged absences, having previously applied for leave and only recently resumed duties. This raises concerns about his commitment to the implementation of crucial government development schemes.
