DAV Public School Sector-4 has etched its name in history as Jharkhand's first and only school to participate in the prestigious East India Inter-School Space Day Quiz, held in Kolkata. This remarkable achievement reflects the school's commitment to excellence in education and its dedication to fostering a deep interest in space science among its students.
As part of the Space Week celebrations, the school organized a quiz competition today for students of classes 7th to 9th. The event coincided with India's first Space Day, celebrated on August 23, marking the one-year anniversary of the successful landing of the Vikram Lander on the Moon's surface during the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
In line with the Indian government's declaration of Space Day, various competitions are being held across schools nationwide. Representing DAV Public School Sector-4, three students—Aman Sinha, Yuvraj Kumar, and Gyan Kumar—served as brand ambassadors at the quiz competition in Kolkata, showcasing their knowledge and passion for space under the guidance of their mentor, Subhash Kumar.
Principal Sarbendu Shekhar Kar lauded the students' commendable efforts, presenting them with certificates and posters. He emphasized that the purpose of education is not merely to learn facts but to train the mind. "Strive for progress, not perfection. The goal of education is to create progressive individuals, not just those who chase perfection aimlessly. Education is the only essential factor that can transform human society into a civilized one," he said, encouraging the students to continue their pursuit of knowledge and excellence.
