Cyclonic circulation in Assam to bring some rain in State

Wednesday, 19 June 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The residents of Jharkhand are likely to have some respite from the heat as the maximum temperature is expected to drop by a few degrees in the next few days. However, the weather will continue to be humid till the arrival of rains in the State. In the coming 3 to 4 days, conditions favourable for the arrival of monsoon are also being predicted.

The weathermen have also predicted thunderstorms and lighting across the State from June 19 to June 22. This may also be accompanied with strong winds of speed up to 30- 40 km per hour and may also go up to gusty winds of speed up to 40- 50 km per hour.

“A cyclonic circulation has formed in north eastern parts of Assam because of which south easterly or southerly winds are coming into Jharkhand from the Bay of Bengal. This will cause thunderstorms and lighting in various parts of the State in the next 4 to 5 days and some places may also witness light to moderate rainfall. Favourable conditions for the onset of monsoon in the next 3 to 4 days are also likely. There is a possibility of monsoon entering Jharkhand along with Bihar and Bengal,” Director MET Centre, Ranchi Abhished Anand.

As per the MET Centre, Ranchi parts of northwest Jharkhand- Garwah, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Koderma and Hazaribagh and its surrounding areas will experience a heat wave on June 19. The rest of the State will have no heat wave like condition. From June 19 to June 22 many parts in Jharkhand are also likely to witness light to moderate showers.

“As per the trend, the maximum temperature is expected to come down by 3 to 4 degrees in the next few days which will also give some respite from the heat wave. The weather will continue to be hot and humid till the arrival of the rainy season,” added the official.
