Congress legislator Babu Jandel has sparked a controversy after a purported video showing him using abusive language for Lord Shiva.
The video was shared by senior BJP leader Narendra Saluja on his X account and it was further circulated on different plantforms by netizens.
Saluja said that Congress leaders have this mentality and State Congress president Jitu Patwari is not concerned about this.

However, when this video went vital on social media, Jandel came out with a clarification, stating that the video is doctored.
In the viral video, it was seen that Congress MLA Babu Jandel was abusive language while invoking the name of Lord Shiva.
Saluja criticized the character of Congress leaders, claiming he was disrespecting Lord Bholenath while intoxicated. His post has incited public outrage against the MLA. He further added that Jandel had previously mentioned that he would blacken his face after the election results, but now the public might do so before the elections due to his controversial video, Saluja added.
In response to the controversy, MLA Babu Jandel has come forward and clarified over the phone that Lord Bholenath is also his deity. He stated that he could never think of making such remarks about Lord Bholenath. Jandel then accused Ramnivas Rawat's associates of editing and circulating the video to defame him.
This incident has reignited debates about Jandel's past controversial statements and his political conduct, raising concerns about the impact on his party ahead of upcoming elections.
After the video went viral, All India Hindu Mahasabha burned an effigy of Jandel outside a Shiva temple in Gwalior's Daulatganj on Thursday afternoon. "Jandel Murdabad," the angry protestors raised slogans and hurled shows at the effigy.
They have demanded an apology from the Congress MLA.
Meanwhile, the BJP in Bhopal submitted a memorandum to the Police Commissioner office demanding registration of an FIR against Jandel.
The BJP delegation addressed to the DGP, said that Congress MLA Babu Singh Jandel has deliberately and thoughtfully hurt the religious sentiments of crores of devotees of Lord Shiva along with all the women power of Hindu religion.
The BJP delegation has said in the memorandum that crores of mothers and sisters of Hindu religion observe fast, worship and praise Lord Shankar. Babu Singh Jandel's character has been reprehensible towards women in the past as well.
