Commencement of agriculture-related subjects in school

Friday, 12 July 2024 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the introduction of subjects such as agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, dairy, and animal husbandry in high school and higher secondary classes. Noting that many students in the state's schools hail from farming families, he highlighted the importance of these subjects in fostering stronger connections between education and everyday life.

Yadav advocated for prioritizing these subjects in C.M. Rise Schools, suggesting that students should have the freedom to choose subjects based on their interests, similar to higher education systems. To implement this initiative at the school level, he instructed to form a task force comprising educationists, teachers, voluntary organizations, and subject experts. These directives were issued during a meeting of CM Rise School management, attended by Tribal Affairs Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Chief Secretary Veera Rana, and other officials.

Dr. Yadav also underscored the integration of education with employment by proposing the establishment of ITIs in every development block. For blocks without ITIs, he instructed to devise strategies for providing facilities through private sector initiatives.
